Reflections

Today I woke up and decided to make a "Ollie Calendar." Going through pictures from early last year to the present made me realize how much Ollie and I have changed. From our bond to my posture in the saddle, everything is different. I made collages of most of the changes and I thought y'all would want to see them.

Left: January 2015. Right: January 2016

My posture improves: Left to Right: April, June, October, December.

Collection at the trot! Left To Right: April, December

Starting Collection at the lope! Left to Right: April, November

Ollie's mane: Left To Right October 2014, December 2015

Ollie's Weight Gain: Left to Right: May, November

Look at how much his facial markings have changed! Left to Right: October 2014, October 2015

The changing herd: Left to Right: May (Half Pint, Ollie, Sherman, Tucker, Rosie) July (Cheyenne, Sherman, Ollie), September (Billie Jean, Sherman, Ollie).

Looking at all of these Reflections makes me very thankful and happy to see where Ollie was, and to where he is now. I am very blessed to have a horse like him, and I am excited to see what the future holds. :)

We Sold Cheyenne

Hello everyone!

I thought that I was only selling the mini's this year.

I was wrong.

It is a long story, but to boil it down my mom found a horse she just LOVED, but we didn't have the space for another horse in our barn. One horse had to go, and Sherman was lame. So, Cheyenne was the candidate. I was okay with that, because while she had slowed down considerably, she was still a bit sensitive for horse lessons, which was her purpose. We found a family that was closer to us and had a daughter that was looking for a medium sized pony. Her older sister competes in Barrel Racing and they do gymkhanas.

They came out to see Cheyenne and fell in love. They called us two days later to say that they would take her. Yesterday afternoon they took Cheyenne away.

I am going to miss my little Cheyenne, but I know she is in a good home and the horse my mom is getting is FANTASTIC. I wish the best of luck for her new owners. :) Goodbye, Cheyenne.

Pasture Pictures

Hello Everyone, and welcome to Ollie's Book Of Life.
(Officially. HI!)

So, I let Ollie and the barn-mates (Cheyenne and Sherman) out this morning in one of our two pastures. Cheyenne is in heat, which made the neighboring horses very interested in her, which attracted Sherman (the dominant one in the little herd of three) to dish it out between the "unknown" horses.

Cheyenne staring longingly over the fence.

Ollie was kept in his stall longer than the others because he had to eat more grain.
He was eager to go out with Sherman and Shy.

"Wait..hold up!!"

A dominance fight started between the fence. It didn't last for very long, though.

Evil stares.

It Is A Blustery Day...

This morning I let the horses out to play. It has been rainy and cold-not at all like the usual 90 degree weather we had been having. I hope it warms up soon!

Here are a few pictures:

I fixed his blanket after this shot.
